Workshop Leader

“Megan is both an inspirational musician and workshop leader”

Pete Letanka

I have enjoyed leading creative music workshops since 2020, in which time I have worked with a range of participants from early years to school aged children as well as adults. I also have experience delivering workshops both in person and online.

I fundamentally believe that it is within us all to be creative, and I am passionate about enabling others to feel creative, take risks and discover their own musical path.

Within schools, I have worked with students to explore instruments and sound, as well as led song writing workshops. I have experience tailoring these sessions to the needs of each school and class, and am very used to basing projects on a designated topic that is being studied by the students.

In community groups, I have led interactive concerts, as well as led creative workshops to help promote general confidence and wellbeing. Some of the most meaningful and impactful work I have done has been as a part of the incredible Lullaby Project, which teams up perinatal mothers with musicians with the aim of helping each mum to write their own, personalised lullaby for their baby.

Testimonials

“Megan worked with the pupils in Years 5 and 6 at our school during the spring term of 2022. She was fantastic at engaging our children from across the spectrum of musical ability. Her workshops had a lively pace and were fun and accessible for all. The whole class circle games were a particular highlight that the children were asking to play each week! Finally, we worked together as a whole class to compose and present a song that linked to our topic work, which gave a great sense of purpose and achievement. Highly recommended!”

“The children were so excited every week to play musical games and it was a joy to watch them improve their skills week on week. The class also loved creating their musical safari story, deciding for themselves the animals they would find on their adventure and how to represent each animal through music.”
